 *International Symposium – "Bioethics of Science and Technologies:
 Problems and Decisions", Kyiv, Ukraine, 9-10 October 2008*
 
 
 
 An International Symposium on "Bioethics of Science and Technologies:
 Problems and Decisions" will be held in Kyiv, Ukraine from 9-10 October
 2008. This Symposium is organized by the National Medical Academy of
 Postgraduate Education named after P.L. Shupyk (NMAPE), the Ukrainian
 Association on Bioethics, the National Scientific Center for Medical and
 Biotechnical Research of National Academy of Science of Ukraine, the
 Ukrainian Association on Psychiatry, and the All-Ukrainian Council for
 patients' rights and security.
 
 
 
 Abstracts addressing the following topics can be submitted:
 
    - *Bioethics, science and technologies* (Philosophical and
    methodological foundations of bioethics; Science and technologies as
    preconditions of new ethics of life; Dual use technologies: dilemmas and
    decisions; Ethical principles and values of science, technologies and
    bioethics; Responsible conduct of research (ethical principles of
    scientist))
    - *Bioethics and transformation of medicine's theory and practice*(Ethics in traditional, nontraditional, alternative or complementary
    medicines; Biomedical ethics and biomedical law; Bioethics principles and
    valeological (health development) technologies; Bioethics and health care
    management)
    - *Bioethics in context of innovations in psychology and pedagogic*(Bioethics and outlook of modern man; Interdisciplinary strategy in
    bioethics education; Relationship between bioethics and psychology; Methods
    of bioethics teaching)
    - *Bioethical expertise as a social technology* (Humanitarian and
    bioethical expertises in civilian society; Methodological problems of
    ethical expertise in biomedicine; Experience of ethics committees: ethical
    and legal aspects; Bioethics in media and politics)
    - *Ecological bioethics* (Ecocentrism versus biocentrism; Ethical
    principles and law in ecology; Technologies of environment's protection;
